Thanks all for coming to the Eugene/Springfield Support group meeting last night.  Because we chose a different day of the week, we had a few new people.  It was really fun.  At the meeting, I handed out some papers on the Victim - Survivor - Thrivor Model (by Lynn Meineke).  Please keep those handouts with your and give them some thought.  We'll be talking about that a bit in the new year.

Our next meeting probably won't be till January.  With the holidays, I'm sure you all will be very busy and making it to a meeting will be difficult.  I'll be out with my three-level spinal fusion, which takes place next Wednesday, so you all have great holidays and I'll see you next year!!

Mine was done as the first stage of my DS.  OHSU does not offer VSG as a stand-alone operation.  I don't know of any bariatric clinic in Oregon that offers VSG as a stand-alone operation either.

A friend of mine had a VSG as a revision from a MGB at OHSU.  Most of the others in this state had their VSGs out of state or in Mexico.

I hope we see you tomorrow Becca!  As for hanging in there day by day, I understand that completely.  I'm off for a 3-level spinal fusion next week, so life has been interesting for me lately.  Basically eat, sleep, lie on the couch.  Oh - and go to work so I can sit all day and be in pain.   Oh well, I'll be looking forward to relaxing.  Please come if you can.  The meetings are pretty fun.

Thank you for hosting these meetings Linda.  I *might* go this Thursday, depending on what happens that day, we'll see.  It seems I'm living day by day lately :)  Just gotta take it one day at a time.  I miss seeing you guys...

Topic: RE: Ideas Needed
Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my request.  I sent this out to friends and family in an email so I am getting lots of responses and ideas to think about.  It's hard to figure out a way to express the depth of my appreciation to this person so all ideas will be carefully considered.  Thank you again!

Topic: RE: Finally !!!!!!
I hope the job loss wasn't because of the surgery.  :)

I have not been eating any differently, only less due to the last fill finally taking hold.  That is the only thing I can attribute the jumpstart in weight  loss.  But whatever the reason, I am pleased.

I have an appointment the Tues before Turkey Day, and am at a loss if i want a small tweak or not.  I will have to discuss my situation with the Dr.  I haven't felt this type of restriction before.  Some days I can eat fine....other days I don't even know why I bother.  It is definitey a weird sensation. I just wish my head would get involved with the tummy.  Know what I mean?   Had one slight incident of a "really productive burp", but other than that nothing out of the ordinary.  Whatever is going on, I am pleased

Good luck getting in more protein  Can definitely relate to that one!  It is just so hard, but easier than it would have been a year ago.

There is a wonderful group that meets in Salem at the Salem Hospital the 1st & 3rd Wednesdays of every month. Would that be close enough for you?
