Hi everyone.
My name is cathy. I'm scheduled for Surgery in Mexico on January 9. I had looked at this list in the past, and didn't find much activitiy. When I looked today, it looks much more active!.
I live in Eagle Creek between Sandy and Estacada, and I work in Gresham. I'm hoping to get to know you all.

I had bypass surgery almost ten years ago and have lost 108 pounds and have maintained my weight loss. Weight loss surgery has improved my health and the quality of my life. I no longer take diabetic medication, high blood pressure medication and no C-Pap. I'm 55 years old and down hill skiing, wake boarding, hiking, biking and I have my life back. Since my surgery nine of my family members have had weight loss surgery. All are doing well. It's normal to have doubts. Weight loss surgery is a major decision but one that I would absolutely make again. I hope this helps to calm your fears.

Hi all,

Well with the weather and all I'm not sure how much of a meeting we will have. But here is the reminder anyway. I will be there. Tomorrow (wednesday) night 6:30pm at the Salem Hospital basement Room D.

I'm guessing it might be a little tough for people to get to so if you can't make it I understand. If we don't see you may everyone have a happy Christmas and wonderful holiday. Hi-

I wanted to get back to you as soon as possible, however it is pretty late, so I can't spend much time on line right now. I love my band and would have it done all over again if I had to. It is the best thing I have ever done for myselff. I am a little farther away from goal than it appears, as I had to have an unfill and put on a few pounds. But am back on track now. I will be happy to answer any questions you may have. Ask away......Are you having a lapband or another surgery? Are you in the Portland area?

I am posting for the first time. I was wondering how you are doing and if you could answer some of my concerns. I have completed pre=operative requirements and am waiting to hear on a date for surgery but I am feeling overwhelmed and frightened.

I need to talk with someone who has had bariatric surgery. Please tell me how this has worked for you. I saw that you were close to your goal.

Help! I have completed the pre-operative requirements for surgery and I was very excited at the possibility of getting my weight off. I am feeling very frightened about it now. I would love to hear from anyone who has gone through this and honestly tell me how it has affected their life.

I have a lot of concerns and I need to know if it is worth it and if you would do it again. I am really having difficulty with this decision.

I would appreciate hearing from others and their perspective.

Hi Linda,

I'm behind the times here - will read your story on a few, but just wanted to chime in saying how awful a thing to happen to such a nice lady. I've been hearing on NPR about staffing cuts due to a last lawsuit. What a shame it has reached the point where care has gotten even worse than this time last year.

And here is was looking at OHSU for my surgery. Hmmmm....
