Thank you! I am feeling well and things are going much better than I anticipated. I feel blessed to have had an easy recovery thus far. Hopefully, it will continue.

Glad to read that your Subaru was able to go up that hill.  Apparently you were one of the lucky ones!  I used to have to drive down a very steep incline to get to my parents' house.  When snow or ice was on the street, access was very limited.  So I had to park on the top of the hill and walk down to my parents' house, altho my vehicles had traction tires.  Fortunately, they don't live there anymore, as my mom died and my dad moved elsewhere about a year later.

If you're in a pickle leaving OHSU, one way to get out is to go south on Moody all the way to the end (Bancroft) and then turn right and again at the light on Macadam.  The incline there is not as deep as the one on Gaines.

Another way is to turn right on Moody.  Go under the Ross Island bridge to the traffic light and turn left.  The second light will take you to either I-5 south (turn left) or Clay Street (turn right).

 I am in Beaverton as well and thus far have not been to a support group meeting-The last thing i want to do in the evening is fight to get into town through the horrible traffic.  I am game to start one if there are enough beaverton/Hillsboro and others to the west!

 That is too funny-I followed a car that slid down that hill on the 15th.  My subaru powered right up and out onto the highway thank goodness!  I don't know any other way out so I would have been in a pickle.

It sounds as though you are doing very well.  It is really hard to get all that nurtrition in, especially at first.  Do the best you can and eventually you'll be able to get most of it in,  Congratulations on having a successul procedure!

Go to Legacy.  After the two experiences I've had in OHSU hospital, I'd say run like hell in the opposite direction before they kill you!

Seriously Disgusted!
It has been (almost) 5 months since I went to the seminar and completed and faxed my packet to OSHU?
I still have not heard anything and I am seriously starting to get irritated.
I do not know what else to do! I have called and e-mailed and still nothing!
They keep saying that they are short staffed or they are going through reconstruction...are u kidding me 5 months of reconstructions....UGH!

Topic: RE: Bariatric Surgery

Hi, I am a lap bander two months out of surgery.  I am just starting my journey with weight loss.  Yes, I would do it again.  When my weight began to prevent me from enjoying life I knew it was time to take control.  I knew that I needed help.  Surgery is giving me that extra boost to lose weight.  I still have to make life style changes.  There are foods I will never eat again.  Gone are the days of full plates and seconds.  I have to move my body more and burn calories instead of sitting around.

Surgery is a great start to a healthier lifestyle.  Weight lose will make some medical problems decrese. You will live longer and enjoy life more as an active member.  It is not a fix all.  You will have to work to lose weight and maintain loss.  There are lots of rules to follow and if you don't there are consiquences.  Good luck and keep us posted

Thanks for the tips Vicki - but things just don't work as they used to.  I can still find some things, but I'm not liking where I have to go to get certain things.  Of course, I'm still just having trouble de

I suppose I'll get used to it;
