Remember, if you have an unfilled band there is no restriction and all that is keeping you from gaining weight is will power.  It can take several fills before you hit your sweet spot.  The band is slow weightloss for the long term.  Remember all the reasons you had at the start, they are still there.  Learn to work with your band.  Protein and veggies, low carbs, and lots of water.  Check out the lap band forum.  What you are going through is "Banster Hell" and is normal.  We all go through this, there are lots of us.  Fills are pretty painless, but you could ask the doctor to numb the area. Hang in there.

Hi Nola,  I guess we are all lost on here now but a challenge for us to return more often maybe.  How are you doing?  Julia

Billie, congratulations on your date. Wow that is a week from tomorrow.  I think I found out on a Friday that my date was a go for the next Monday.  I liked that short notice---just get ready and go---no time for second thoughts.  I really had no second thoughts and have never regretted my decision.  My life is so much more productive and I am very happy with my results.  Soon you will be too.  I cannot tell you much about the liquid diet as my surgeon did not require it but I know a lot of people who do it longer than a week.  Hang in there.  Julia

I understand your frustration, but there is absolutely nothing to be afraid of with your first fill.  It is relatively painless...a slight ***** and it is over.

You need to get the fill....to progress along your weight loss journey.

Please let me know what your concerns are, and perhaps I can help put you at ease!

Topic: Frustrated!
Had surgery a month ago and I am finally on solid foods sorta.  Now I am gaining weight and have gained two pound in two days.  Was this really worth it?  Anyone have this issue?  I am walking everyday and now I am hungry all the time.  I am afraid to go get my first fill of my band.  Not sure what to do or where to turn.

Hi Pam

I'm new to this site (sort of) and was interested in the Salem support group. Can I go to the meetings even though I had my surgery at OHSU?  When will the next one be?

Thank you -

Candice in Salem
