Congratulations on getting your date! I hear Dr. Tersigni is a really good doctor - many of his patients are here on OH and they like him a lot. I think that the OHSU support group is open to anyone. Check their website or give their office a call. Or you could PM Vicki - she usually knows the info on the group meetings times, etc. She keeps up on all that stuff.

Topic: Eugene Springfield March Meeting set!

In March we will meet on THURSDAY, March 26th - same place and time - Market of Choice at 29th and Willamette in Eugene. Meeting starts at 6:00. I will have back issues of OH Magazine (maybe a new one by then) and samples I just received from Kays Naturals.

For future meetings, April and beyond, would you like me to try and get some guest speakers, like a plastic surgeon or one of the docs from Eugene Bariatrics or something? I know we have a pretty good time talking and discussing issues we're having, but I'd hate to think you're all bored.

Lap Band on 04/07/09

I'm booked at Bay Bariatrics for lap band surgery on April 7, 2009. Woot! Wish insurance was paying for it but looks unlikely (at last stage of appeal - see my bio for more info (at work so can't type all the info right now).

A friend suggested I find a support group in Portland to go to with my hubby. Not sure if there even are any or if it's a great idea. I have had binging issues in the past so maybe a support group would be a good thing.

Clueless here. :o) Just shocked after so long I'm finally booked for surgery. I need this so badly....

Kaiser does'nt do do anything but the open RNY, unless they changed and are doing it lapriscopically now. I don't think you would have any luck trying to get them to cover a fill after having the lapband. You might try going to the support group meeting tomorrow ( saturday) over at Sunnybrook. You might find out some info there, there are people from all over that go to these meetings who have had both procedures done.. If you have'nt been already. the meetings for pre-ops is from 10 am until noon.

Great to see you posting again, I was wondering what was happening with you. It's wonderful to hear that your revision went well and your finally living a normal life, you had such a rough time.

Kim! It's so good to hear from you. Better still to hear that you are doing well. You gave us all a scare there for a while. I'm so glad you found Dr. Deveney and that he managed to help you. Health is one of the biggest keys to being happy.

I had a major spinal fusion in November and was just sure I'd end up gaining weight due to lying around on the couch. Turns out I ended up dumping another 12 pounds since the first of the year. My restriction is really back and I'm just not hungry. Really doing well.
