Topic: RE: Happy Day To Me!!
Congratulations Kristy! We have the same anniversary, but yesterday was my second one. Life is so much better as a smaller person. I am so much more comfortable and handling the heat of summer much better than I did before. I'm happy for you.

Topic: the best!
i had my surgery a long time ago but i have to say the folks in Medford are incredible. Dr Eaton and his staff are so caring and thorough. i started to go somewhere else and when i moved and switched to SOBC, i got so much information and they were really professional and so organized! now i see their nurse practitioner who takes all the time i need and will call me just to check up on me. i miss not seeing the doc (he's so handsome!) but i know i have to share him. I encourage you to check out SOBC. There are a lot of hoops to jump through and its annoying at first but then you realize how important it is and that there is a method to the madness!
Topic: Medicaid Revision to Duodenal Switch
A friend of mine had the RNY about two years ago. Her weight loss was poor and now she's gained it all back. Some might say this is her own fault, but I have heard many stories of this same thing happening with the RNY which is part of what convinced me to get the Duodenal Switch. My results have been great so far and I've seen a number of people who have gotten a revision from RNY to the DS. She is on Oregon's version of Medicaid.
So my question is whether any of you know if Oregon's Medicaid plan covers the revision from RNY to DS? If not, is there a way to file a review of medical necessity through the state?
Thanks for any help you can provide!

Topic: RE: OH of Eugene/Springfield Closes Shop
Linda,
How sad that no one showed up last night. I was going to come, but couldn't take my baby granddaughter with me. I so enjoyed the meetings when I was able to go, even though my drive time was 3 hours to get there. Hopefully things will change when summer is over. People are out enjoying the sunshine, going on vacations, etc. We appreciate all you have done.

Topic: RE: Eugene/Springfield surgeon leaving?
I was just about to transfer my care from Olympia, Wa. to Riverbend. I stopped by the office this week to turn in my paperwork, nobody said a word to me about Dr. Yarbrough leaving. Today the office called and said I'd have to wait until Sept. to get in with the new doctor. I can't wait that long for a fill and don't want to go back up to Olympia. Since you're already seeing him in Corvallis, can you give me his office contact info. please? I don't want to play the roulette wheel on after care and I've heard good things about Dr. Yarbrough. Hubby also works in Corvallis so it'll be nice to have lunch with him after appointments.
Thank you
Thank you

Tonight was the last meeting of the Eugene/Springfield Support Group. I have better things to do with my time than to sit there by myself. I hope you all have the support you need.

Topic: August - OHSU Bariatric Support Group Meeting
Hello~
At the 10 AM OHSU Bariatric support group today, 7/22, it was mentioned that next month’s meetings will be about nutrition. They are asking that if you attend next month that your bring a recipe or samples of something that you have found to be tasty and nutritious. I am hoping to bring samples of the protein drink by Premier Nutrition that I purchase at Costco. They have 1 g sugar, 5 carbs, they are low in fat and have 30 g of protein in an 11 oz serving plus I think they taste great.
Hope to see you next month!
