Thanks for your help Vicki!  I had looked at that information and it wasn't clear to me either.  At least there seems to be an appeal process.  I think I'm going to post over on the DS board to see if I get more responses there.

WOW! I just noticed the date on this. Sorry..I didn't realize you wrote this over a month ago. The Oregon message board isn't very busy, is it? Feel free to come over to the Calif. board anytime. ;-)

my friends own a nice RV park in Port Orford, don't know how you feel about an rv but they have rv rentals there on the property. Just a mile from the ocean. It's called Camp Blanco RV Park. Jeff and Angie are the owners. It really is a nice park...
Good luck,
Kathleen

I'm going to see Mark Jewell tomorrow about a scar revision to my tummy - possibly resulting in a tummy tuck - and a possible breast lift.  I don't think I need an augmentation, just would like them back where they belong.  I'll let you all know how it goes.

I have been a "regular" member of the Eugene/Springfield support group meetings, and I feel awful about the poor attendance. I would have come to the July meeting, but vacation only comes once a year..............

i totally enjoyed all the meetings and it was a great group.  Hate to see it close up, but understand your doing so.

Best of luck to you Linda!

Topic: RE: Wasington gal en route to Oregon! "Good Samaritan" in Portland?
Thanks for more info!  I'm really looking forward to that program...  My morning here has been AWFUL, I've been on the phone with my case manager nearly in tears... but things have worked out, and he's made a contact agreement with me.  So, I'm happy now and moving forward.

I've gone to their seminar now and am just waiting for my official referral letter from UMP - Uniform Medical Plan - to schedule my intake with them.  I'm crossing my fingers like a mad woman, just praying that this works out to my advantage.  I should know in about 20 days whether my insurance is going to allow me to move to the next phase, so happy as a clam atm.

:)

Take care, everyone!

The Oregon Health Plan (OHP) is the state's version of Medicaid.

I checked OHP's prioritized list of health services that was effective April 1, 2009.  WLS is covered under line 33 only when the co-morbidity is Type 2 Diabetes and the BMI is 35 or more.  Those without this co-morbidity are still considered far lower in priority under line 608 of the same list and are therefore not covered under the OHP.  Nothing was mentioned about any revisions.

Any challenge to this list should be directed to the Oregon State Health Services Commission.  Click on "Contact Us" on the left side of the web page.

Hope this helps!

I know this is late but Good Sam is wonderful. I went to the info meeting on April 15, 2008 & had my surgery July 31, 2008. Dr Halpin is wonderful as are the rest of the people in the clinic. By the way I had RNY.
Congratulations on your decision & best wishes for success.
Blessings,
Linda
