Hi, I need some help with Protein drinks. What kind do you like? If you can tell me what ones you have tried and liked. That would be great. I am having problems finding any that I can drink without gagging. Thanks and have a great day Carrie

I understand, I have wasted oney on one I just throw away. I have found 3 I like. Nectar Cappuccino and Nectar Lemon Tea. I drink the cappuccino warm, just mix it in cold water then heat in microwave. (do not boil). I buy them here at the OH store. I also like Matrix perfect chocolate. Mix it in just a tiny amount of cold water, make a smooth paste out of it. Then add ho****er. great hot coco. I buy it at Baratriceating.com

None. When I was first out of hospital I used Designer Whey from Trader Joe's. It was the best by far. I tried the bariatriceating ones and didn't like any of them. Now I get what I need from food. tee

Hi Carrie, I, too, had trouble finding a drink that I liked......but then found it. I don't gag now. Bariatriceating.com is a GREAT resource. My new favorite is Whey Fruity (grape) and it tastes just like grape kool aid. 26 grams per scoop and oh-so-easy to get down. I couldn't help but notice that there is a flavorless protein powder out there too. I'm trying that next! Hope this helps. Let me know. Rose

Only one I liked was Muscle Milk. I got it at General Nutrition Center.

Carrie: Hi. I had a hard time with the protein, too. I finally found one that works for me and I drink it every morning then get the rest of my protein from food (I'm 18 months out). I use Nectar--I buy the fuzzy navel and the strawberry kiwi. I mix equal parts in a huge cannister and it tastes like a not too sweet punch to me. I get it from either bariatriceating.com or vitalady.com--whoever is cheaper when I need it. I did just find it locally, though, and will likely just go to the store and buy it. I found it at a place called the Vitamin Shoppe. There are about three of those stores around Portland, I think. I know they carry Nectar, I just need to make sure they carry those two flavors. Can't stomach the others---pun intended Good luck. Pam

Pam, Thanks! There is a Vitamin Shoppe very close to me. I will go and check it out today. I wish that you could buy single serving size of these drinks before we buy the HUGE container. O....well. THanks again and have a great weekend! Carrie

I've found that Body Fortress Whey Protein shake mix, available at Wal-mart or CVS, is the best. It has 20 grams of protein per serving and, as long as you refrigerate for at least an hour after mixing, it has a nice, thick consistency.
