Good morning, Oregon! How is your weekend going so far? I am snuggled up all cozy warm in my house, but I'm trying to brace myself for a walk today. Are you ready for some Questions of the Day (QOD)? Here they are: 1. How cold was it? What is the coldest temperature you have experienced? Where were you living? 2. What is the hottest temperature? Where were you living? 3. What nice thing are you going to do for yourself this week? Answers: 1. It got down to around 5 degrees when we lived in Wenatchee, Washington. 2. It was about 110 degrees when we were visiting in Pasco, Washington. 3. I am going to get together with some dear friends for dinner Monday night and Tuesday night....different friends! Have a good week! Peg

Good afternoon! I was going to say morning, but realize now that it's already after 1pm!!! Yikes!!! 1) The cold: For me, when I was living in John Day in a leaky apartment, it got down to 18 below zero....was like that for a good week or two. I could NOT keep warm. Had my oil heater cranked to high, my feet in ho****er, my oven on and open and wrapped myself in an electric blanket...still felt frozen! That was when I realized just how horribly leaky my apartment was!!! 2) The heat: This was I believe in 2004 here in Medford. It was 109 on the one day we decided to go to the fair one day in July. I thought I was going to pass out...literally! I came home and jumped in the pool without even wading in. I *never* do that. 3) Nice thing for myself: I work Sunday night then I have the next 2 weeks off of work, so I'm going to spend that time with Mason making ::gasp:: cookies and all that fun holiday stuff. I'm going to roast some coffee beans and take it to some friends/co-workers as well. Dina

Hi Dina. I know Medford and the heat down there! It's amazing! I've been making carmel corn tonight. I need to get it boxed up real quick! The coffee beans sound good. Lucky friends/co-workers! Peg

MERRY CHRISTMAS & HAPPY HOLLY*DAZE! Doing great and feeling like crud...why? Because I just finished Kaiser's 5 week weight mngmt. class and I have lost 17 pounds! Whoo hoo! That's throughout the Thanksgiving week as well! I feel like crud because I have been sick with a sinus infection, now an ear infection, on my 2nd antibiotic and I will be done with it tomorrow and I am still having pain in my ear! UGH! I dread going back to the Dr. the week of Christmas! Bonus...I got to miss work this week! Now to answer the Q's... 1. When I was younger we spent a week at Christmas in Bend...23 below zero! And I couldn't say more for the red hot heat of a good wood stove back then! I would have to jump away when my backside began to burn! Ha! 2. Definately the hot & humid South Pacific! Even if it is around 90 degrees, it feels like 120! We were on the Island of Weno, Chuuk in the Federated States of Micronesia (Scuba divers think Truk lagoon, some of the best WWII wreckage anywhere!) No where to escape the heat, and had to boil our rainwater before drinking...and I was 4 months pregnant! 3. What I am doing for myself is to continue on my path of weightloss, and preparing for Kaiser's 2nd group meeting on January 25th, the day before I turn 31!!! Nothing is going to stop me from reaching my surgery date asap...!! Enjoy...Celebrate...Create a memory to last a lifetime! Heather in Albany!

Hi Heather. You have had quite a few experiences with cold and heat! I wish you all the best on your weight loss path. You're such a young pup. You should do really well. Take good care of yourself. Peg

ok, the Incredible Shrinking Man is here, or is he? Maybe not too long from now he will have shrunk to the size of a Barbie doll. Whoa, talk about Land of the Giants! LOL Well at least I can ride the Autopia again and get on all the kiddie rides down at the mall now. 1. Hmmm, was born in Wis. but don't remember anytime of being much less than just freezing. Although I remember being colder than a well digger's behind at times. 2. Was to Death Valley once as a kid where it was 120 degrees in the shade. Don't know how they figured that cause there wasn't any shade. Now I could probably find some under a rock or something. Okay scorpion. move over and give me some room! 3. I remember being pegged the Incredible Bulk at one time at work. Now it's the opposite. I'm Skinny Minnie. Maybe I'll mosey on over to Ferrels Ice Cream Parlor and have myself a "Trough" and try to bulk back up. LOL Jer - aka "The Incredible Shrinking Man"

Wow, Jer. I guess you never figured on having a Skinny Minnie problem. I hope you get your balance one of these days so that you can enjoy just being slim and trim. Happy Holidays! Peg
