Good Morning, Oregon!!

I agree. It IS cold! Even though I am an Oregonian through and through, it doesn't make me any warmer! I'm just glad my house is warm, and my DH bought me an electric blanket to use in our family room, so I really stay cozy warm! I love the Christmas season. In fact, it is my favorite time of the year. I think for those of us who are Christians, it is a good time to reflect on all the good things in life instead of the bad things. I love to spend time with my family, and during the Christmas season, we try to make that a priority. I also like catching up with family and friends who live far away. It's the only time of year I hear from some of them through their Christmas cards and letters, and it's probably the only time of year some of them hear from us. I hate the commercialism of Christmas. It's too bad that things can't be simpler and less hectic so that people could enjoy the good company of others. Anyway, that's my slant on things. I hope you all enjoy your family and friends at this time of year, and I hope you all find a little time for yourselves too. Stay warm! Peg

I envy anyone, of any persuasion, who can take a break from the realities of our world and can concentrate on their own family and friends. I mean that sincerely. I do enjoy my family and the people I am surrounded by. But I still can't shake the need to at least acknowledge that there is something more to this than simply the commercialism of Christmas that has gone off the tracks. That has been going on for years. That, I can opt out of. Our leaders are cutting aid to the poor as we write our greeting cards. Cuts to healthcare and foodstamps, education and aid to others around the world are being seriously cut, dramatically cut as we shop until we drop. And don't get me started on peace on earth. Christ was a incredible person in history and the celebration of his birth is nothing I am negative about. I can hardly imagine what a man who said "what you do to the least of my brothers, you so also do unto me" would think of what is being done in his name today. Sad, and comical in a way, if you think about it. tee

Janice - Check the South of the Border forum http://www.obesityhelp.com/forums/south-of-the-border/posts/ and ask your question there. I recall someone mentioning someone in Portland who does fills, but I don't know who. Good luck! Dina
