Surgery Scheduled for April 4th !!!

Today I had my pre-op with Dr. Hong and they scheduled me for surgery on the 4th of April. That's only 5 days away!! Now I am nervous!!!!

Wow, how great that you are getting in so soon! I see Dr Hong on April 6th and I was wondering how long before they would schedule the surgery. Did you have to get approved with insurance or are you paying yourself? I'm really happy for you and hope that all goes well. This has been the best thing to happen for all of us with weight issues. Are you having Lap Banding or the Gastric Bypass?

Thanks for the words of encouragement. I have BCBS Federal for ins and they do not pre-approve. Their criteria is 100 lbs overweight and over 18 years old. They pay after the surgery is performed. I've been assured that there should not be a problem. They only cover the Gastric Bypass - which is what I wanted.

Thanks for the information, I hope that all goes well for you and that you have a very successful surgery and recovery. It is so exciting each day to see all the notes from everyone who have already been thru this. You are very lucky that the Fed BC has such a easy process. I work at Legacy in the Insurance verification dept for the hospitals and we actually verify the auth for all of these surgeries but we never know what and how much time it entails behind the scene. That is whey I was curious as to how much time it takes for the different insurances and what each one entails. Good Luck and I'll look for your messages after the surgery! Hi, This clear broth diet is wearing thin. I am instructed to have nothing but clear liquids three days before surgery. This is only day two! Do you have the same? Lara

I had surgery on 2-22 with Dr Hong. I really liked him. I have no complications and feel great! I think he is a great Dr. Congrats and hope you have a speedy recovery. You can have complete faith with Dr Hong. I love him! Take care, Tammy
