Hi David! Welcome to the board! I'd be happy to answer any questions I can...there's a wealth of experience and information from everyone here. As for family being against it...just remember that this is for YOU. Your family is concerned for you....that's normal, but the decision is yours. Once you reach the decision on your own, they should support and respect it...whatever that decision is. It is scary...it's normal to feel that way. Heck, I was scared up until they wheeled me into the operating room, but I knew I wanted to do this. I'm so happy I did! Where is your meeting....orientation or a 1-1 w/a Dr.? Michele

Double century club! Congratulations, Michelle. You deserve double credit (IMHO) for the first WL without the surgery. Neither is easier than the other, but losing it on your own is a significant achievement in my book. Take a bow for that! I saw on the news about "naked lady" parties where clothing is exchanged. I had to laugh at the idea of all of us having such a party. Can you imagine? Us wrinkly butts all in the same room trying on clothes? Hey, maybe this isn't such a bad idea........... take care and keep up the good work. tee

You're right...double woohoo! Thanks! I can't believe I've lost more than I weigh now. I've heard of "naked lady" parties as well. Fun idea...but I'm not getting a pretty picture of it in my head, lol. They could also rename it "Rags for Sags". Love to hear from you! Michele

If I didn't laugh at the image of that in my head, I would cry. How about "Sag ladies?" Or has that already been taken by the red hat ladies? My thighs look like my stockings are falling down. lol tee

Way to go Michele!!!! You are doing SO fantastic!!! You are about caught up to me now (2 lbs) and are seriously going to leave me in the dust very soon! I am so happy for you - you are doing so great! I do want to ADMONISH you (with a loving kick to the ever shrinking hindquarters) though for using Advil and Aleve! I know it's not an all the time thing, but there is just such a serious risk of bleeding ulcers with these meds, you shouldn't even taken them occasionally. Did you read Chris's post a few months ago? He almost died. Also someone on my March message board had the same thing happen just recently, only he was on Bextra which is supposed to be EASY on the stomach (but is still an NSAID). My own doc prescribed Bextra for me and I just had this bad feeling about it and never filled it. I know how hard it is because my back aches and right now I am seriously dying here from cramps, but it's not worth a bleeding ulcer to me. If all else fails, ask for Vicodin!!! Dina

Hey Babe! Thanks! As for the Aleve...I only took it twice, per surgeon's orders. Then he put me on Bextra for strained abdominal walls from the surgery. I was on that for almost 6 months when they pulled it from the market. Believe me, I could NOT have functioned without it. Luckily, the pain was manageable w/out meds by 6 months out. Unfortunately, Vicodin makes me sick as a dog...ugh! I had it 2 years ago after wrist surgery, took a couple of days to figure out why I kept throwing up all the time. Ya know...perhaps they don't remember I was taking Bextra....and maybe that's what has affected my kidney function. Hmmm! Have to ask at my appt. on Monday. Michele
