I have a surgery date!
I just wanted to share! I found out that my surgery is scheduled for Oct. 12th! That was pretty quick considering my paperwork was only sent in for approval on Sept. 2nd.
Since I have to travel to Coos Bay for the surgery, I will need to have the blood work, tests, evaluation and educational seminar all the day before surgery! I am nervous but mostly excited.
Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Hi everyone! As I said before, I am both excited and nervous. Since I won't be having the Education seminar until the day before surgery (at least that is what they are planning for me - an individual education class), I will kind of be at a loss on some of the things that I should probably bring with me for the hospital and hotel (after the hospital). I do know that I will bring a fan, my own pillow and books. Is there anything else that anyone can recommend that I should bring?
I am also wondering how long each of you spent at the hospital and how many days was it until your post-op visit? I did notice that I had read a post somewhere on here that they were released from the hospital the day after surgery (I believe she was a self paying patient though). Is that common? Or any of you have to stay 3 days or more in the hospital? I am curious as to what is the "norm" for hospital stays as my husband is going to have to take time off from work and I would like a general idea of what days he will need off. I am scheduled for a Tuesday, so I am guessing I will be out of the hospital on Friday - does that sound correct?
Also, since we will have to stay in a hotel in Coos Bay after surgery until my post-op appt. with Dr. Tersigni, can anyone recommend a nice but still inexpensive hotel? When I had my appt. with Dr. T and met with Robin, she had mentioned that they have it set up with some hotels in the area that if you are with the surgery center you can get a discount. Does anyone have any info on this?
Okay - I am sure that I will have plenty more questions, but I will start with these. Sorry so many questions, but you did say that I could ask.
Thanks for reading!
