My surgery

well the day is fast approaching when I will be on the losing side.. my surgery is August 31st.. but I get to go to the hospital 2 days early so that they can transition me from coumadin to heparin...(sigh) I told them I want a good view.. do you think it will work..

You mean you have to stay in the hospital 2 days before surgery??? TALK ABOUT ANNOYING!!!!! I wouldn't be able to stand the tension...LOL. Good luck girl, and keep us posted, okies?? :::Warm fuzzies::::: Brandi

Renee, I was in the hospital for 2 days before my surgery, too - but that was in Spain, and it's a lot less hospital-like feeling - I was able to go out and about town, that sort of thing. But honestly, it was kind of nice being in the Clinica ebb and flow of things, you know? You'll do great. I hear Dr. Deveney is a great guy. I've only ever talked to him on the phone - and he was gracious and willing to chat for some time. And I probably don't have to tell you this - but you're going to LOVE being a DS post-op. It's so fun. I have never had so much fun in my life. Take good care - and you'll be in my thoughts and prayers! Blessings, dina

Holy cow Renee - your time is fast approaching! I am so happy for you!!! I can't believe you have to be in the hospital so far in advance, but since you will be, take plenty to read, lots of videos and if you have a laptop, take that too!!! Do you have an angel or someone to check on you? I would be willing to do that if you don't have someone. Just email me - let me know if so. Dina

wow, how the heck did I miss this post?? your gonna do great!! 2 days will suck for sure.. take lots of things to read.. hope you get a private room.. especially for those 2 days!! after surgery they will take you back off the heparin immidealty right?? I just talked to someone a couple of days ago that had to do the same thing. (knee surg, older gentlemen) dina wants to be your please let her cuz we all want an update to know you made it through with flying colors!! Theresa

Can you believe how quickly time flies? Next week, you'll be a loser! I'm so very happy for you and wish you the absolute best of luck. You're going to be up at OHSU, right? I don't live too far, so I'll set myself a reminder to stop in and visit if you'd like a bit of company....but I'll wait until the 1st, okay......when you're coherent again! Well I am going to take my lap top I think.. cause I have to be there two days early. and I will go crazy otherwise .. so hopefully I can tell everyone what room I am in.. I would love to meet you.. and anyone else that would like to be met..
