Looking to move to Oregon - anyone work for Core of Engineers?

Hi All My husband and I are looking to move to Oregon - we both work for the Department of Defense in California - looking for help in getting up to Bonnieville or Portland or anywhere in Oregon (would love to get away from in-laws) - no children to tag along (but we do have two horses) - Ruthie 10 weeks out 100 lbs down

Hi Ruthie - Oregon is a beautiful place to live, that is for sure! My brother used to work for the Corp in the Portland area several years ago but now works for ODOT. There is the Army Depot in Umatilla and dams all along the Columbia Gorge. Take a little vacation and drive that way. I know that housing is so ridiculously cheap up there as I was pricing out homes one day for my brother who lives in Stanfield. Under $100k for a house that would be around twice that much here in Medford (Southern Oregon). But then you have the extra added bonus of living in an area where a major incident could occur, so I guess it depends on what compromises one wants to make. Dina
