I was a patient of Dr. Bakkee (sp?) located at Kaiser Beaverton. He was very willing to do the necessary referral to the bariatric program, and supported me in my desire to have the surgery. Once your in the program though, your PCP has very little to do with getting you to that meeting with the surgeon. I am sure Dr. Bakkee would have responded to any needs or requests pre-op or post-op. I never did make it to the surgeon. After feeling like I was stalled at every turn, my husband's company changed insurance and I was approved in a few weeks. Good luck with your progress. Don't let the them push you around! Patty

I guess wls is not allowed because your bmi isn't high enough, is that right? I always understood Kaiser to pay if you are over 50 bmi with co-morbidities. Dina
