2 WEEKS POST-OP CHECKIN' IN!
Well, sorry I have not been on for awhile. (I have been on the main message board alot.) I am now 2 weeks post-op and have lost 17 lbs. I fear that is not very good, I kinda expected more, but It is more weight than I have lost for awhile! And, I know I am on the track to losing much, much more. I am told that as a "lightweight", someone who has only 100 lbs or so to lose, (119) will lose at a slower rate. I am feeling good, though, and doing all the stuff I am supposed to be doing. I don't have to go back to work for another week & a half.
Hey joan,
hun, we all go through that.. I remember my doctor telling me I would loose 1 pound a day for "x" amount of time, then 1/2 lb, then 1/4th pound.. I was soooooooooooooooooo disapointed when this was not happening.. He didn't realize I took him literaly..he was saying it would "average out" to be that way.. LOL @ me!! like duh and total blonde here...
and even now it's sooooooo extremely hard *not* to compare myself to other people on the MB.. like I just seen a lady post today who weighed 2 lbs more than me and had surgery 4 months after me and is way beyond goal and I am still fighting these last 20'ish pounds.. it's frusterating.. and yes, I was a so called light weight too needing to loose 121 lbs.. (256/135)
so hang in there.. and do your self a favor.. something I did not do.
keep a weekly/montly journal of your weightloss and sizes.. also in that journal keep track of the things and amounts your eating so you can have something to look back on when you want/need to go *back to the basics*.. This will also help you when you hit a platue.. you will be able to see it's not as bad as you *think* it was..
Theresa
Joan,
Congrats! I think your results are AWESOME!
I'm a month out today and am averaging -1lb a day. Sometimes that seems slow (am I nuts?) then I remind myself that I used to do horrible diets for MONTHS to lose less that what I've already dropped in the last 30 days!
You're doing great!
Blessings,
-Perk
