Transect or not??? Please help!

I am really starting to freak out. My surgery is 2 weeks away and i'm seeing that more and more people are having staple line disruptions from just getting rows of staples and not being transected. Am I setting myself up for failure by not getting transected??? I have Dr. Friedman and to my knoweldge he does not transect. Can anyone please help me to understand all of this???
