Surgery @ Good Sam on tuesday!

Well, my date is fast approaching! Surgery on Tuesday, June 1rst at 8am at Good Samaritan in Portland. I have Dr. Dennis Hong, of The Oregon Clinic. I had been having quite a time a couple of weeks ago, getting nervous, of course, fearing death, and all the usual stuff. But. Now I have calmed down alot. I have some pressure at work to finish everything up before I go out, and a few things to do around the house, but other than that; I AM READY! Get this: Monday, I have to drive all the way to the hospital to take a stupid PREGNACYTEST! Well, first of all, I am 50, next my tubes are tied, and most of all; I have passed through menopause! Do they make 80 year old ladies take a P.PG. test too?

Good luck to you--I'm sure everything will be fine--that is if your not pregnant! lol I had my surgery at Good Sam too and I don't think I was ever given a pregnancy test!

I will be thinking of you Joan! I thought I would be smart and go in on Sunday to get the darn pregnancy test done. I figured hospitals are open 24-7. It was deserted, and no lab available to do the test. I was a little annoyed too, but I guess it is policy. At least getting a blood gas test isn't part of Dr. Hong's policy. I was more worried about that than the surgery, from reading accounts on people's profiles. You will do great! Patty

Hi joan, LOL @ 80 yr old ladies taking pg tests... too funny. I had to take the dang test too even though I had told them I hadn't had sex in a "VERY" long time... just a protocall they must do!! oh well right? your gonna do great. make sure you post before you go in.. and do you have anyone who can update us on how your doing? Hi Joan, Congratulations on getting your surgery date Are you ready for the ride of your life...I am so sorry they are making you go all the way in to have a pg test sounds like a waste of time and money to me...I hope all goes well for you and the test is negative I remember being very emotional and I couldnt get the what ifs out of my head, so I just had to go in ready to win this fight and I was POSITIVE and knew everything was going to be all right...I am 2 years post-op and I have lost 211 pounds so far, and I am healthy and loving life again... A PG test? What are they thinking? Sometimes it seems they get so caught up in "procedure" they miss the big picture of YOU. They're dorks! I'm so happy for you....June 1st! WOW! So cool to hear how ready you are. Best wishes and much success to you! Michele
