I have been researching RYN for a couple of years and working with my dr on different diet plans that haven't worked for long term results at all. I am now even heavier than I was when I started this journey. Long story short.. he still isn't interested in considering a surigical option. Can any of you suggest a dr. that is a bit more open to the idea. I am getting really frustrated with all the waiting. My BMI is 52 (weight 335). Any help you could provide is greatly apprecited. Sidenote: I have been reading this site for a while w/out participating since I didn't have anything to contribute. I just wanted to let you all know that your messages have been inspirational and very helpful!! -Wendy

Either Salem or Portland area would work for me. I will have to go to Portland eventually for a surgeon. -Wendy

Wendy, Heyya. I now have the only Doctor that I haven't disliked in my entire life. He's the greatest, really. Until now, I've never had a PCP that I felt was really concerned about my health and was willing to listten and dialog with me. He is: Dr. Stephen McNally The Portland Clinic (503) 620-7358 6640 SW Redwood Ln Ste 100 Tigard, OR 97224 I'm in Gervais and the drive isn't too bad, as he's right off I-5 (by Tigard Home Depot). I stuck with him with both Providence Insurance and now with United Health Care. Really a great doctor. Also, he's the one *****ferred me to Dr. Patterson when I first mentioned WLS. Very supportive. Awesome! Thank you. I have Providence Insurance right now so that will probably work out great. I have just grown so tired of doctors not understanding how to treat the problem. They just keep treating symptoms... frustrating!
