Hi Keighty... I'm as compulsive/obsessive as they come~! I had lap rny 4/12/04 so I'm three weeks post op.. and it's a struggle not to get on the blasted scale every morning! But it drove me nuts because depending on whether I'd taken a long walk the previous day or drank all the water.. I wouldn't change weight at all! So, to save what sanity I still have I have decided to wait and do the weight in with my doc when I have my follow up 3 week appnt with her this next Tuesday. I'm really tempted to just use weights from her office check ups as my yardstick instead of torturing myself with my own scale. Good luck with your self discipline~! Penny

When you get the secret to that one nailed down, let me know. I'm about as compulsive as they come when it comes to weighing. I make myself really anxious over the stinking scale, that's for sure! (And NO I'm not going to back away from the scale. S'not gonna happen!) Dina -33

I weigh myself every morning with no apologies. Before this surgery I would go months (maybe over a year) without weighing myself. Usually a new number will tease for a few days, and then when I see it there for a couple of days I figure I own it. Some times there is no downward motion, but that is O.K. because I know it's all in the works. I think it is too fun to see the inching downward to not allow myself weighing. I also try on my wedding ring about every other day. Even though I'm weeks away from it going on, it doesn't stop me from taking out the jewelry box and trying it. If I waited too long to weigh, I might think the number should be too big and that would be a dissappointment to deal with.

Hey Keighty! I actually don't own a scale and refuse to buy one. I'm 8weeks out and on a plateau for the last 3 which is driving me crazy. I work out 5 days a week...doing all my water and protein. The truth is the scale isn't moving but the inches are melting away 14.25 last month!! But to be honest this week I've jumped on the scale twice because I better not have gone through this surgery just for 30pounds!!!! I guess I could live with weighing 2 tons if I fit into a size 10pants.
