Oregon Health Plan

Hello, I am moving BACK (thank god!)to Oregon the first of May. I know with the qualifications I have I won't be able to get a job that has insurance or pays enough for me to buy my own. So, I was wondering if anyone here has Oregon health plan or has heard of anyone being apporved through them? Melissa

Melissa - Unfortunately OHP doesn't pay for this surgery. It has been a futile fight for many folks trying to get it. Heck, I'm a state employee with state insurance bennies and IT doesn't even pay for it. I had to go self-pay to Mexico. I should qualify that statement: If you are a state employee in Salem or Portland (areas where there is a Kaiser), you can get Kaiser insurance and they will pay for the surgery if your bmi is over 50. Geographical discrimination is what it is. Dina
