Beaverton Support Group??
I was just wondering how the the support group meeting in Beaverton went last night? I had a total brain "malfunction" and was a day behind schedule. I thought all week Thursday (today) was the 14th! Bummer. I had childcare arranged, etc. to go tonight.
Anyway, was it helpful. I went south of the border for my surgery and did not go through all the hoops of support groups/councelling before surgery. I was looking forward to this meeting. Is there plans for another one in the future?
Thanks! Melissa
Hi Melissa,
I am scheduled to be banded on May 14th with Dr. Ortiz in TJ, Mexico, so I am looking for a local support group too. I had planned to go to the Beaverton Support Group, but I was unable to attend at the last minute.
I had emailed someone on this board about it, and they were kind enough to give me the details. One thing they did mention though is that it is primarily RNY patients. I'm happy to see that there will be some bandsters there, as I wasn't sure I would be entirely welcome.
Does anyone know when the next group meeting is??
TIA!
Marcie
Actually, the Beaverton Support Group (as is also the OHSU support group) is made up with a very even distribution of patients representing primarily RNY, Lap-Band, and BPD/DS, occasionally there are post-ops who drop in who are JIB, VBG, or BPD procedures.

I also, am scheduled for a band surgery with Dr. Ortiz in TJ. being in Portland, I did try to make it to the beaverton group. I heard it was helpful, but I havent made it there yet. I do have some questions for you, being a patient of Dr. Ortiz and his team, GO ROBIN! (Robin rox & has been very helpful for me) Im confused about where beaverton is, I just moved here from SF. can I take the max and get there? totally dig on the idea of not having to jump through all those hoops with pre-junk (oregon clinic style) Dr Hong and his team seemed nice, but i need instant gratification. just say yes to lap-band with Dr. Ortiz,

ps., how or who did you go to for fills and adjustment junk here in oregon? did they hook you up with affiliates or did you just make the trip 6-8 after surgery? and searching again and again, for that "sweet-spot" right?
