News from Aetna...
Hey guys,
Well, I heard from Aetna yesterday, Dr. Eubank's office faxed over 91 pages of records last friday afternoon and they confirmed they received the records monday morning. One less hurdle to jump over!! Aetna called Dr. Eubanks monday afternoon and said they didn't have 6 months worth of supervised dieting within the last 2 years. It was in there, the case manager just didn't look! So I called Aetna back and explained there was a med list included (I was on fentermine for 7 months out of the last 2 years!), I refaxed 7 pages of Dr's notes and called back to confirm the case manager received the fax. She is not very nice or helpful, she sounded like she was bothered that I even called her, she also said that it would be nice If she would have received all the records at once. Well,it would be nice if she took the time to read the records, she would have found what she needed without me refaxing...She also asked me why there were only 3 Dr's visits noted If I was on this weight loss medication for 7 months? She said this could be a problem with documentation, it was up to the medical director to approve or deny the surgery. So..I should hear back by the end of the week, hopefully we won't have to appeal..But nothing worth while comes easy , right? I'm ready to fight!!
