I HAVE A DATE!! I HAVE A DATE!! I HAVE A DATE!! I HAVE A DATE!! I HAVE A DATE!! I HAVE A DATE!! I'm definitely doing the happy dance!! January 28th at Sacred Heart in Eugene. I'm riding a roller coaster of emotions right now....from estatic....to terrified!! I updated my profile and there was a question about having an angel. I'm not exactly sure what all that entails, but I have no angel assigned to me (to my knowledge, at least). I don't really believe in god, so I'm assuming an "angel" is some sort of support system among AMOS members. Anyone know much about this? I love this message board!! Thanks to all for being so supportive and informative! I hope you are all safe and warm during this storm. I know I have a bad case a cabin fever, but I'm fortunate to have power and a boss that doesn't require me to drive through this nastiness! Here's to Losing!! Happy New Year to all! -Mary

Thank you Lynn!! I live in Hillsboro (just west of Portland), and my parents live in Albany. We have to go down on the 27th for the pre-op testing and we'll spend the night with my parents in Albany and head to Sacred Heart early the morning of the 28th. Good lord, woman!! I have a MILLION questions!!!! What is the pre-op testing going to be like? I have a bunch of questions about Sacred Heart and what to expect the morning of surgery and all that jazz. I'm so glad there is another Flanagan patient on the board. I feel very fortunate to have discovered him in Eugene and I will be paying much more out of pocket expenses simply because he is not a part of the network of doctors for my insurance. I think it's TOTALLY worth it! He is at the top of the field and has done literally thousands of these procedures over the past 20 years or so. Another thing I found out about Flanagan is that his mortality rate among the morbidly obese is a big fat 0%. ZIP! It very low among the super morbidly obese as well. Anyway...I could go on and on!! CONGRATULATIONS MARY!!! WooHooOOoooo AND.. when you check in come see me.. I will be in Sacred Heart for a surgery too.. mine is Dec 26th.. not WLS.. I did that in August but I'd be glad to support you through this! I will certainly look in on you post-op! Wishing you a safe surgery and a speedy recovery!

Yes Jan 26th I will be having surgery at Sacred Heart. I am told I will be there 3-5 days so I am sure we will cross paths.

hehe.. yep it is my turn AGAIN.. I will be in Sacred Heart - surgery on the 26th then 3-5 days for the stay... knowing me it will be 3 but my plan is to be a big baby and stay till they throw me out LOL I say that now but get me out of here for a day or two and I am wanting to get home asap... besides I will be missing the kiddo's basketball games.. can't have that... How is it going post-op Lynn? Is being back at work okay?
