Job hunt

Well, the time has come to start sharing my woes again..LOL! I NEED A JOB!!! I NEED A JOB with good insurance. Anybody have any ideas? I am going back to school in the eves to get my pre-reqs done to join the radiology program at PCC. So I would like a job with 32-40 hours in the day time. I have tried every major hospital, Dr.s Clinics, Sales jobs, Marketing jobs, ect.... What should I do now? I have run out of options! Brandi

Hi Brandi, I wish I could offer you some really good advice. I don't know what kind of money you are looking for in a job: I'm sure you are like me and want good money...anyways, my only idea is possibly getting a job with a pharmacy. The big companies all have insurance. I don't know what they pay specifically and how that compares to what you need. But, I can say that it is in the medical field, which kind of fits in with your career goal. My husband works for Fred Meyer Pharmacy, which is covered by BCBS Kroger PPO, and they do cover WLS surgery (90%) but the kicker is they only cover it until Dec. 31, 2003. So I'm on a mad dash to try to get my surgery approved and done by then. There are lots of other pharmacies besides Freddies though such as Rite-Aid, Walmart, K-Mart, Wal greens, etc. Just an idea, hope it helps some. Good luck and take care, ~Lynn

Hi Brandi, I found out that United Healthcare covers WLS. I was talking to someone in the chat room that got approval through them in about two weeks. According to their website they are nationwide, but I have no idea what companies (if any) in Oregon offer insurance through them. Does anyone know of an employer in Oregon that uses 'united healthcare' as their insurance provider? Good Luck, Tammy

I have United Healthcare and I was approved in 3 weeks. I work for the local power company.

Are you in Portland, know of any jobs available? LOL! Thats the key...this job hunt has just worn me down....It's soo hard to find a job, let alone find a job that offers insurance that covers WLS. Thanks everybody for the advice! keep it comming!
