HI EVERYONE.
THINGS ARE GOING GOOD.. I'M GETTING SO CLOSE TO SURGERY! I KEEP LOOKING AT THE CALENDER GOING.. "OH MY GOSH" BUT I THINK I'M GETTING READY.. I HAVE TO FIND A ROOM FOR MY FAMILY UP BY OHSU AND I DON'T KNOW WHAT MOTELS ARE AROUND THERE.. SO THAT'S WHAT I HAVE BEEN DOING BESIDES WORKING..
ALL TAKE CARE AND HAVE A GOOD DAY.

The rv parking is great, but I think there is a waiting list. You might want to check into it if it is an option for you. I'm pretty sure they have someone in charge of the RV parking. It is really close and of course, cheap!
I bet you're excited. I am getting excited too. Things are looking better and better for me to be able to have my surgery date of Dec. 18. I'm almost afraid to really think it will happen. Crossing fingers, toes, etc. etc.
Take care,
~Lynn
We've stayed at a place just off Terwilliger very close to the hospital, although down the hill. My daughter was hospitalized at Dornbecker for awhile in December and January and there were a couple of January days when it was difficult to make the hill because of slippery ice. You might even check at the hospital because we have actually rented a room in the hospital. They might just be for parents of surgical kids but worth checking it out. We had a nice large hospital room with two regular beds and shower and TV and little frig. Close to the surgical floor too so we could see my kiddo whenever we wanted. When my husband has his RNY on December 9th I am staying in the hospital hotel. THe hotel is within the hospital and is for out of town relatives. The room has a queen size bed and a fold out sofa as well as TV, shower and frig. The price is $50 nightly and that includes a voucher for me to get meals in the cafeteria. When my husband is discharged he will also stay in this room until he is ready to travel back to Oregon. Now I have tons of family in LA but my husband is shy and doesn't want to be a grumpy patient for my sister or sister in law. He also doesn't want to apologize for wearing his ratty old comfy jams in front of relatives. I, on the other hand, will stay with my sister when it is my turn so I can get all the attention I need. Seriously, check out if the hospital has relative rooms for rent.
