HI, MY NAME IS JULIE AND I AM SCHEDULED TO HAVE SURGERY ON DECEMBER 10TH. IN PORTLAND. I'M NERVOUS AND SCARED BUT HAPPY TO HOPEFULLY BE ON THE 'LOSING' SIDE OF THINGS.. WOULD LOVE TO HEAR FROM ANYONE. THANKS

Hi Julie - Welcome to the Oregon board! What kind of surgery will you be having? I am 12 weeks post-op - Open RNY. I am down 70 pounds and several sizes.. I started my journey wearing a 5x shirt and I put on a 1x sweater yesterday.. be it snug it fit I could certainly wear it if I had to.. I was thrilled that is for sure! To come so far in such a short time is just amazing.. nothing short of amazing. I got an email from my Dr. today.. he is the sweetest man on earth.. he reminded me AGAIN.. it is not magic.. you must still excerise and follow the rules.. it may not be magic but when I think of him the word Magician certainly crosses my mind! We look forward to getting to know you and support you through the journey you have ahead...

THANKS FOR TAKING TIME OUT TO REPLY TO MY POST. I AM HAVING AN OPEN RNY ON DEC. 10TH I THINK. I HAVEN'T MET MY SURGEON YET I MEET HIM ON DEC 1ST. IT'S ALL GOING SOOOO FAST FOR ME RIGHT NOW.. I CAN'T BELIEVE ITS ALREADY ALMOST DECEMBER.. I KNOW WHEN THANKSGIVING IS OVER THEN I WILL BE MORE NERVOUS THEN I AM NOW.. CJ CODY, YOU ARE DOING SOOO WELL.. CONGRATS ON YOUR SUCCESS SO FAR.. I BET YOU FEEL SOOO GOOD.. I HAVE A HUSBAND AND A 3 YEAR OLD STEP SON AND A BIRD.. I JUST GOT MY BIRD SO I TELL EVERYONE.. I LOVE MUSIC AND I THINK I AM A PERSONABLE KIND OF PERSON. THIS SURGERY HOPEFULLY WILL SAVE MY LIFE.. THAT'S WHAT I'M BETTING ON ANYWAYS.. I HAVE MULTIPLE HEALTH PROBLEMS DUE TO MY WEIGHT SO I AM HOPING WITH THIS SURGERY THAT THEY WILL GO COMPLETELY AWAY OR GET ALOT BETTER. THANKS AGAIN FOR THE WARM WELCOME AND I CAN'T WAIT TO TALK AGAIN.

Hi Julie: I'm scheduled for RNY on 1-15-04. Like you scared and nervous. My husband is having RNY also. His is scheduled for 12/9/03. He's not scared or nervous! We're having our surgeries in Southern California. I used to live and work in Albany. In fact, my kids were all born at Albany General Hospital! Take care and welcome. KW

Hi Julie! I'm having an open DS surgery on Dec 11th, so our surgeries are close! I'm actually having a revision done as I had the banding done last year and boy, it didn't work out very well for me. Now I'm really excited! Just a few weeks to go! Tracy
