Hello People! Ok, it's 10:30 Monday morning and it's my first day back at work. Tomorrow will be 3 weeks post-op. I really do feel amazingly well. I have been walking and getting my water in as much as possible. I am still a wee bit tender, but nothing really. I feel better than I have felt in a couple of years. I have so much energy that I have already gotten all my work done for the day. Now I am begging others to help them with their work. Ok....I think I need a new job. I have lost about 26 lbs....this last week the weight doesn't seem to want to budge for anything. I felt like throwing the scale out the window on more than one occassion. The Dr. assures me this is normal, and to just keep on doing what I am doing. I ended up at the ER yesterday with a blood infection. I had red streaks running down my arm. I guess I picked up staff along the way or something cool like that. I am on heavy duty antibiotics, so I sure all will be well soon. I am still planning on having the next support group meeting. However, the date was to be the 26th and not the 19th. I hope that works well for everyone. Talk to you soon, ~Shelley~

CONGRATS ON BEING BACK AT WORK!! I'm sorry you have an infection, but glad it can be handled by antibiotics. Let me know if you need anything (I have plenty of work at my desk, in case you're really desperate!). I'm game for the 26th. Today is 100 days to my surgery date, and I have to admit I got a bit nervous this morning. I looked at my perfectly round, perfectly white-never-seen-the-sun belly, and thought about having it cut open. Ick. Then I thought how hot I'd look by my next birthday, and I thought they can cut my limbs off too if need be! And throw out the scale. There's no way you're not going to lose (even though we all think it won't work for us). Enjoy all the energy you have. Let's talk this week. ~lesa~

Hey Shelley.. Congratulations on your success! It is hard not to compare yourself with others.. but don't... we all loose differently and it is perfectly normal to plateau as early as 3 weeks.. most people do between 3 and 4 weeks... keep on doing what you are doing girl and you will melt away! Count me in for the meeting... if you can email me directions I would be grateful.
