WE'VE GOT A DATE

My husband and I will meet in the hall of Huntington Memorial Hosital in Pasadena, California on November 11th, 2003. We will be wearing our cute open backed gowns, maybe even flash each other. I'll be there at 7:00 AM and like the good guy he his he will follow me. After the gowned meeting we'll meet back in our room to commiserate and celebrate being on the other side. Yes...we're doing it 11/11/03 in Pasadena, California. I'm scared but so excited. He's just excited. Kathy

Congratulations Kathy!! It is scary and exciting!.. and you guys are so brave doing it on the same day.. How cool! I am so happy for you.. let us know how you are doing and if you need anything I am not very far away. I am looking for a good support group. I will be attending the Roseburg one this month. Have you been to any in Eugene? I know Dr. Flannigans patients have one.

I have never attended a support group meeting. A friend of mine who is scheduled for surgery in Portland next month goes to Dr. Flanigan's meetings and she says she gets lots of good infor and support. I'm tempted to try one of his meetings, although, I met him for a consult and do not like him at all. Tell me how you like the Roseburg group. Kathy

Yes Dr. Flannigan is one of those best in the West with no bedside manner But he is really truly a leader in the field.. I am a little spoiled having used Dr. Aguirre I had the best of both sides... I will check out Flannigans support groups too.. we can never have too much information. I will also let you know about the Roseburg one.. there is the one provided by the Dr from the Bay area too.. in Portland first Saturday of the month. I missed the first one and I heard it was wonderful... I will definately go to the next one. I have read it is important not to do this on your own but to seek as much information post-op as you sought pre-op.

HI Kathy~~!!! WOw, what exciting news! Both of you together can share all of your ups and downs and successes. Remember men seem to lose weight faster so dont let that get you bummed when the time comes. I am excited for you both~~ walking the journey together, hand in hand... Hugs and kudos to you 2. My brother and sister in law had RNY surgery with the same doctor we are using. SIL had hers last December and is down 75 lbs. My brother had his in February and has lost 110 lbs. She told me she gets jealous of his easy loss but doing it together has really helped with meal prep and social activities. My husband will lose faster I am sure and I will probably get jealous too but losing together will be fun.
