Fake Nails?

If you have fake anils do they make you take them off before surgery?

I read about this some time ago on the main board - there was a discussion going on about removing one fingernail before surgery... it was a few agonizing minutes before I realized they were talking about fake nails! For any surgery, you need to have at least one nail bed exposed as it's a quick indicator of your oxygen level. So, you'll have to part with one temporarily.

Hey monica, every surgeon/hospital is differarnt on there policies about this. but pretty much from what I have ever seen is: no nails, no polish. when you go in for pre-op testing and what not be sure to ask if they don't already give it to you in there pamplets... same for false teeth, flippers, contacts, hearing aids and what other stuff people have.. see ya sunday theresa
