OMG! Bad, bad new!

Ok....I need some major cheering up. I just got off the phone with Dr. Eubank's office. They told me my surgery may have to be postponed. They said that the isnurance company approved the surgery....approved Dr. Eubank's, but the only hopitals in their network are the Providence hosptials and Willamette Falls. So....they are waiting for a decision from UHC. I guess I won't know anything till Friday.....I am so so bummed.

Shelley: Check your insurance coverage and see how much the "maximum out of pocket" is on your policy. Even if your insurance covers the surgery, you're probably going to have to pay something. They can't take more than the maximum out of pocket amount in any calendar year. So even if you have the surgery at an out of network hospital, the maximum out of pocket still applies. After that amount, the policy has to cover 100% of expenses. I used to be licensed to sell health insurance in Oregon. Check it out, and let me know if that cheers you up! -Lesa
