Hello, I have decided to switch surgeons. I was seeing Dr. Friedman, but he only does the open RNY. After much research I have decided I really would like to go with the laparscopic RNY. Dr. Friedman indicated that Dr. Eubanks is a good surgeon. However, he is fairly new to the community and I am worried about being in such a small hospital as Woodland Park. If any of you have had this procedure by Dr. Eubanks, could you please give me your opinion?? Thank you all! Shelley

Hey Shelly! My name is Julie Wilkinson. I am 4 months post-op from a Lap RNY and my surgeon was Dr. Eubanks. I am very pleased with him, overall. He's a kind and considerate man who takes plenty of time to answer all questions. I did have my surgery done at Woodland Park Hospital, and yes, it is small, but I didn't have any problems. The nurses I had were great. Feel free to email me at [email protected] anytime for more info about him. Julie Wilkinson Lap RNY 4-8-03 Start Weight 293 Current Weight 212

I had an appointment with my OB/GYN ( Dr. Dina Levin) last week and was discussing the fact that I have chosen to pursue bariatric surgery through the WISH Center in Renton Washington. She mentioned Dr. Eubanks, she said he was an excellent surgeon and very skilled laproscopy. She has worked with Dr. Eubanks and so has personal knowledge of his expertise. My grandson was born at Woodland Park in 2000 and he and my daughter received excellent care. The advantage to a small hospital was the individualized attention they both received and at the time that my grandson was born they partnered with OHSU so had excellent resources if for some reason they weren't equipped to handle something although they had excellent equipment. If I wasn't already so far down the road I would certainly consider Dr. Eubanks for the sake of convenience. Hope this helps!
