Hello to all!! I am fairly new to this web site and have found it interesting and helpful. I emailed about a dozen members and have only heart back from 2. I was wondering if anyone could provide me with some insurance information. I am trying to find out if there are any specific employers who offer an insurance plan that does cover the surgery. I have fought with my insurance and appear to be loosing. I am very frustrated and could use some help. Thanks for your time. Sincerely, Kristy H.

Hi Kristy I have done the insurance dance for over four years with three different companies. Oregon lets the insurers get by with this .. in California the same insurance I have here.. (Regence Blue Cross Blue Sheild) pays for the surgery. I have decided to be a self pay.. with costs as high as they are I am forced to go out of the country for my surgery. No more insurance hoops to jump through only to be told no. I wish you the best of luck .. Hope springs eternal.. never give up. CJ

Hi Kristy, I work for Pacificorp aka Pacific Power and Light. We are insured through United Health Care. I know of 2 women that came here to work specifically for the medical coverage so they could have a gastric bypass. I'm not sure what type of work you do, but you can always check on Monster.com for our postings. Cheers,Shelley

Hi Kristy. Send me an e-mail if you want more information about a position in a credit card call center. They offer United Healthcare (which does cover the surgery), but I'm sure you can understand why I don't want to post more specific info encouraging someone to apply just for the insurance!
