Where are support meetings?

I'm looking for support group meetings. I am pre-op and I know they exist. I'm just not sure where they are!! Thanks gang! Christa

Hi Christa, There is a group that meets at Providance Portland (48th & NE Glisan) on the first Wednesday of each month. Meetings are at 7:00 in the Social Hall. Just come in main entrance and down the hall to the right or cross the skybridge from the parking lot, turn left, you willwalk right into the double doorss of the Social Hall. There is also a group that I've only been to once that meets at Woodland Park Hospital NE 102nd a few blocks north of Halsey. They meet on the 2nd Thursday of each month at 7:00. They meet in the back of the Cafeteria. GO in thru the Emergency rm entrance. There is also a big group at OHSU. I've been trying to nail down the details myself. I'll forward them when I do if you drop me a line.

Here is the info on the group that meets at OHSU: Fourth Wednesday of each month (excluding holidays). 7:30pm - 9:00pm Meets in the CDRC building on the OHSU campus, Room #3200 "Prospective, current and post-operative and their support people, or anyone intested in learning more about the various procedures." I've only gone once so far, but it seems like a nice bunch of folks. Best of luck!

Hi Christa, There's a post-op meeting in Beaverton that anyone is welcomed to attend. Here are the specifics: Weds. August 13th at the Beaverton Resource Center. 7pm start. Corner of SW Hall and SW Allen- Room 138. Inside the front door, to the left about 80 feet down the hall. While this meeting welcomes anyone in the WLS process the sharing is for the postops. Preops and Wanabees can listen and gather phone numbers. Ask your questions before and after the meeting! We often do a dinner beforehand, so plan on it!!
