moving to vancouver wa

I am from vancouver orginally but have been living in bradenton florida for 6 years. I hanv't seen much on support groups in the vancouver area. I tried the wa local and posted and got nothing in return... so can anyone tell me where the support groups are? my surgery was on 4-16-03. not the best time to move but when is it ever??? thanks theresa PS.. can't wait to be back in the northwest... rain and all!!

Kaiser has support groups that meet monthly. Do you know what insurance you will have here?

Hi Theresa! Portland is just a hop across the river from Vancouver, and support group meetings with my surgeons group are open to anyone. Post Op for the RNY and BPD are the first Wednesday of every month at 7pm. We get folks who use other surgeons all the time, so you'd be more than welcome to attend. Let me know if you need more information. We meet at Legacy Emanual Hospital. Our group facilitator is also a patient and our group simply ROCKS! ~Peace

I know of two groups: First Wednesday of month at Providence Portland and Second Thursday of the month at Woodland Park. Good luck.
