Hi everyone!
I Just wanted to say how happy I am that we have this forum to chat with others about what we're going thru. My family and friends have GOT to me tired of hearing it. It's been a long year of waiting, but that is almost over. My surgery date is getting closer and closer only 20 days and a wakeup- well almost a wakeup I have to be there at 6am, hehe! I am not a morning person, but I sure hope the Doc is! I have been trying to lose more weight prior to surgery, but I've only been able to squeeze a pound or two off in the last few weeks. I don't know what my problem is, I've dieted many-many-many times and since I had my kids 16 years ago, I have never been able to lose a significant (50lbs or more) amount. I just can't wait to have my efforts pay off. I started at 374 lbs and now weigh 342, which is okay, I just hope I can drop some more before the 27th of June. Julia
Julia, you are doing GREAT dropping some weigh pre op. Now that you have just a few more weeks I suggest trying to ignore that pesky scale (!) and just go after the fitness aspect. It will help you so much with your recovery if you are just that little be fitter. Try walking (although in this heat it's tough) and practice your deep breathing. Those darn respiratory therapists come into your room post op and you want to make them smile with your good numbers (they always frowned at me). Best wishes! CC
Julia, I know you're excited - I remember my excitement at being 20 days out! It goes by really fast!! I also wanted to lose some pounds prior to my surgery, which I did - but also make sure you enjoy a few "last meals" - something you really love.
Good luck w/your surgery!!
