Hi from Wilsonville

Hi friends!! I'm here in Wilsonville--just got word today that my insurance denied me because of all things--I'm not big enough! I'm so upset! They said I can appeal and I will, jeeze my BMI is 40.3 now but it hasn't been high enough over the last 5 years to count--apparently 39.4 isn't high enough--lord give me the strength I'm going to need!!

Hi Sheri, that is unfortunate. Do you have any significant co-morbs to present at your appeal? Make sure you document every single weight related issue you have. Good luck! Maria

Hi, I live in Salem. I too was told that I did not weigh enough to qualify. I don't know if I picked the right road, but over the last year I gained 25 pounds so I did qualify. Then they said I had to loose 25 pounds to show I can commit to a new life style. That took another six months. Anyways I am now 3 weeks post-op and down 20 more pounds. I had to jump through a lot of hoops, but I got my surgery and starting my new life. Hang in there.
