I do a lot of walking.  In the Eugene/Springfield area, we have a lot of wonderful walking trails.  One of my favorites is the river trails around the Willamette.  I sometimes start at Skinner's Butte Park and walk west, taking the Greenway Bridge over to Valley River and walking down to Alton Baker Park, then over the Autzen Bridge to the UO and back up the trail to Alton Baker and back into Skinner Butte Park.  You can really cover some miles while watching the beautiful river.  I walk a lot of the back roads in my neighborhood with my dog, as the quiet streets are a good place to walk a dog who spends way too much time sniffing posts and bushes.  I like to be able to walk in the road so we can keep the pace up.  Also, the EWEB canal trail and pond out in Walterville is really nice.
