APPROVED! After 4th appeal

I'm in shock! Dr. Pattersons office just called and told me I have finally been approved.  It's been a very long wait!

Do you mind if I ask who your insurance provider is?

I have Aetna.  WLS was not a written exclusion when I first started the process, but they have since revised some of there policies (including mine) to deny all WLS requests outright.

I have Atena as well and they have flat denied my claim as well. How did you get yours passed?

It's a long story.

After going through the whole program, I was denied, appealed, and denied again.

Then  I wrote to the Oregon Consumer protection department, then appealed through ERISA, then through my surgeon again.

I have my final appt. with the surgeon on December 13th and surgery scheduled for January 9th.
