Why do I post

Hi Everyone,

Why do I always post a lot on this site? I have such a passion about the success that I had after having weight loss surgery with Dr. Aceves and his staff. My entire life changed. I had the most wonderful support from so many people on this board when I was first starting out and was “just thinking" about what kind of weight loss surgery I wanted. Then once I was sure I was going to do it and that I wanted a sleeve, came my thousands of questions. Now these people were so patient with me and ALL my questions—trust me I had a lot of them. They really helped me educated myself. They were there when I had opposition from my own family and encouraged me this was about me and NOT them. By asking ALL MY questions I felt very comfortable with my choice. I am not saying I wasn’t scared, and had all kinds of feelings and emotions before I went to Mexicali, because I had the very same ones that most of you have had before you had your surgery. It was MY choice to go alone and I did great and knew I was going to be OK going alone and I was—that might not be for everyone, but it was what worked for me.

I learned so much through this process and I wanted to give something back to the “newbies" who were coming along behind me. I have 3 years of experience behind me and some valuable information I think.

I can only talk about “MY" experience and tell people what I know from my own experience and the education I got before, after and during my 14 months it took me to lose 105 pounds.

I am retired, I do have the time to answer people’s question and say what I know. I do this because I want to pay it forward and give back ALL that I got from the people ahead of me.

I want YOU to be successful with your weight loss. I want YOU to have ALL the information from as many people on this board as it takes before you make a choice of what kind of weight loss surgery you are going to have and where you are going to have it.

 Suzanne - I'm really happy for you -- you've had great success and you really like your surgeon.  That's wonderful.  Your posts really sound like infomercials though.  All of us who have been successful like our surgeons.  We're glad we had the surgery and lost a lot of weight.  That doesn't mean we post ads for our doctors here.

Hi Linda,

Thank you for you the things you had to say.  I posted what I posted because people have asked me many times over why I like the doctor I had. How do I have time to post and answer questions, So, I thought I would write and answer the questions that had been asked of my in an E-mail.  So I explained why I was posting.  I answer many peoples question on this board and NEVER mention or say ONE word about who my doctor was.  I guess you missed some of those posts. 

I think if you read all of my post you would have seen the very last thing I said. Read the below statement please, it was in that very same post that you are criticizing me about.

"I want YOU to be successful with your weight loss.  I want YOU to have ALL the information from as many people on this board as it takes before you make a choice of what kind of weight loss surgery you are going to have and where you are going to have it." 

 I don't believe that sound anything like an INFOMERCIAL. All I can speak about it what I know, if they have asked me why I went to the doctor I did then I feel it only fair to give them MY reasons.  

Thanks so much for your opinion. I thought we lived in a world where there is freedom of speech and we are allow to say what we feel and think?

I would never take it upon myself to tell someone that what they wrote wasn't the right thing to write on here.  I thought this was a place where we were here to support each other NOT criticize what they wrote.

I didn't say what you wrote was wrong.  I simply stated what it sounded like to me.  We are all here for support.  Surgery will be different for every individual, even if they have the same doctor.  It's nice that you post your experience, I post mine, someone else posts theirs.  Most don't post frequently about their doctor though - just unusual.

I am who I am.  I don't have enough time in my day to make judgement calls on what someone wrote. Again thank you for you comments and words.
