Experienced Plastic Surgeons in state and out

I had RNY in Coos Bay in August...doing great but am planning on quite a bit of plastic surgery this next fall.  I couldn't find anyone in Oregon that had much experience with bariatric patients and body lift procedures so have looked out of state.  On OH/Plastic Surgery forum, I found Egrari in Bellevue, Stridde in Federal Way, WA., David Kaufman in Folsom, CA, Dr. Agha in Newport Beach and another 3 or so in Phoenix, AZ.  Has anyone had any experience with any of these?  Are the costs reasonable or too expensive to consider?  Any information (good or bad) would be appreciated. Experience with anyone else?

Thanks.

It seems a lot of post ops go to Mexico for plastic surgery. Not only is the cost low but they are very experienced with WLS patients.
I think it is in Monterey and the doctor's name is Saucedo.

I had a consult with Dr. Connell in Portland, for a LBL and breast lift it was around $30K. I really liked him but for me that is too much.  Did you get any prices from Dr. Agha?

Dr. Agha's ballpark quote for a lower body lift and maybe a spiral thigh lift (small thigh lift) was $30,000.  He does amazing work but I have other procedures to do so it is too much for me.  I emailed Egari in Bellvue and have heard he was really good but have to go for consult before they will give me prices.  I have heard he is also in that ballpark.  So far, the best price for a LBL is either David Kaufman in Folsom, CA, Rajapol in San Franscisco or Mezahari in Scottsdale, AZ.  They all have really good reputations in working with weight loss patients.  I know it is traveling but since I live in southern Oregon and no one is available for that, I will be traveling anyway.

I met with Dr. Julia Hansen at OHSU last week and found her to be very knowledgeable. If I was in anyway hesitant about having the surgery by the time I left her office I was optimistic and confident she would be an excellent surgeon. I found her to be very down to earth and easy to talk to concerning my surgery.  My primary highly recommended her. I am planning to have an Abdominoplasty (as described on this site) and maybe a breast lift added as I am already paying for the surgery room and anesthesia. I am looking at about $9000 for both, though I do receive a discount being an OHSU employee.  I was very suprised by the price and that it is a day surgery and I would not need to stay in the hospital over night unless there are complications or I chose to stay one night for absevation.  I think Dr. Hansen has spoken at the OHSU support group about plastic surgeries in the past and will be joining us again in May.

I will look into that.  Does she do the surgery or are residents doing it?  Thanks for the info.

I specifically asked that question and she does all the prep work and the surgery.

The price is certainly affordable. I would like to know what you decide and if you are satisfied with the results.

Dr Zegzula at Portland Plastic Surgery. He is upstairs from Oregon Weight Loss Surgery & works with many of their successes. 503-288-9646. I had plastics in December, he came highly recommended & am so glad I listened.
Blessings,

I have heard of him but didn't know anyone who had seen him.  Could I ask if part of your procedures involved the lower body lift or total lift?  Most plastic surgeons are experienced in TT, BL/BA and facelifts but it seems few have experience doing body lifts.  In addition to being satisfied with his work, were you comfortable with his fee schedule?  Did you have to stay in the hospital? Thanks for any information.  Sharon
