Low Iron/Proferrin
I am having an infusion of Iron done and posted on the Roux-en-Y message board asking for some information, which I received from some very helpful members. I just wanted to share it with others.
I am not anemic and have always had lower iron levels but have a Ferritin level now of 16 which is 3 points lower than it was a year ago. I take a liquid iron and try to include foods in my diet that are high in iron but my body is not absorbing them. My primary suggested the Infusion of Iron and then I am hoping to be able to maintain higher levels with the exclaimed wonders of Proferrin ES.
The site the members shares is wlsvitagarten.com/2010/04/26/anemia-common-post-rny-really-y ou-dont-say/ .
I hope others find this information useful.
