I'm seeing Dr Patterson at OWLS also. I think she's pretty knowledgeable and has an excellent reputation. She's a little 'direct', businesslike, not sweet and cuddly at all, but I have confidence in her abilities and I don't need a hug, so it's just what I need. I met her once about a month ago, for about 10 minutes and I'm having my surgery Monday 7/12, so I'm pretty sure I'll see her for a few minutes then, too, maybe even after
I know you believe you understand what you think I said, but I'm not sure you realize that what you heard is not what I meant.   24lbs lost pre-surgery. I'm 5'2.

Dr. Patterson did my band surgery on July 2.  Yes, she is straightforward, gets the job done.  She is all business, but that's what I like in a surgeon!  I think she's terrific and have been very pleased so far.  Started pre op diet May 1 and am down 47 pounds since then, 23 of those since surgery.

I had my surgery 4 years ago at the OWLS.  The doctor that did my surgery is not there anymore but when I go in for my checkups they are soo good to me.  Since I live in Eastern Oregon, they set up all the appointments that I need all in the same day.  If I need to see the dietician or anyone other than the doctor they make them all at the same day and it makes it nice.

I lost 120 pounds after my surgery and I have gained 15 of it back but I am going to try to get that off in the next couple of months with going to the gym.  I would recomend the place that i went and I would also highly recomend the surgery to anyone that is thinking about having it done.

I'm glad to hear a few people recommend the bariatric surgeons at Sacred Heart Riverbend in Springfield.  I have an appointment on Aug 12th for an informational seminar and to turn in my paperwork.  I live in Springfield so it's very convenient for me.  I'm just getting started on this journey but now that I've decided to do it I can't wait to get through the process!    :)

I just had a very good experience with Bay Bariatrics in Coos Bay. They are very sensitive to our needs, have a great staff and an easier program to follow leading up to it. I lost 35 lbs heading into surgery. They are also cheaper than Sacred Heart. Good Luck.

I'm another patient of Dr. Patterson. I highly recommend her. As others have mentioned, she's not the sweet, cuddly type personality, but that isn't what I wanted in a surgeon. She really knows what she's doing and tells it like it is. I really like her. She has an excellent reputation. I have all my post op office visits at her Portland office now, but my surgery was done at SW WA Medical Center in Vancouver. Dr. Smith was her assistant when I had my surgery, but he's doing surgery on his own through OWLS now and he's good too. He's very nice, knows what he's talking about and besides, he's nice to listen to (English accent lol).
