I'm meeting with my surgeon June 17 which seems like a really long wait.

But anyways

Can anybody tell me about Dr.Leger, what is he like?

    What was your personal experience?

How long did it take to get a surgery date?

By now you've already met with your surgeon, but I wanted to recommend the From Thick to Thin Yahoo group, which, I believe, is made up of mostly Kaiser patients.  There should be somebody at the monthly bariatric support group (whichever one you go to) who can hook you up if you give them your email address.

I don't know Dr. Leger, but every time he's mentioned in the group I go to, he gets a round of applause (literally).

How did your meeting go?  Did you get a surgery date?

Hi there,  My name is Peggy.  I had my surgery done at Kaiser Sunnyside on August 22, 2006. I did not have Dr. Leger, I had David Moiel do my surgery.  I started out at 526 lbs, and currently weigh around 246.  It took me 18 months to get from orientation to the surgery..  When I 1st started out, I thought to myself this is taking forever to get from point a to point B.  I almost gave up.  I am glad that I did'nt.  I work out with a trainer 4x a week.  I still have a lot of loose skin I wish I could get rid of.  All the exercise in the world won't rid of it.  I just keep on plugging along every day.

Good luck on your journey,

Peggy
