I had surgery at OBC on March 6, 2009. So far I am down 96 lbs since my my pre-surgery weight of 315, I have been stuck at this weight for about 2 months. I am really in needs of some guidance on how to get un-stuck. Carbs are a huge problem for me know...that is all I want, I would love to hear from OBC  patients or anyone that has some good ideas. Thanks

I recommend eating three high protein meals a day on a schedule. I also have two protein drinks each day, one mid morning and one mid afternoon. You will not crave carbs if you do this. I also had weight loss surgery over ten years ago and have maintained my weight loss. I'm not saying that you don't have to work on it but you want to brake through this plateau now before you hit your one year mark. You can do it! You have come so far already!

The Best to You,

Robin

Thanks for your suggestions. What brand of protein shakes do you use. I have a hard time drinking the shakes if I can taste the whey. This week I have been adding in a lot more protein to try help with the weight loss. I am also journaling my food intake and activity levels

I like the Costco premier protein drink, Isopure from GMC and 50 Gram slam from GMC.I also use Unjury non flavored protein powder and add it to Greek yogurt.

I found that I'm a carb addict! I will crave them if I eat them and the more I eat them, the more I crave them. I had to stop cold turkey, it wasn't easy and I was *****y and irritable but it works. Once in a while I'll have some carbs and it'll be like I crave them again. It has made a huge difference in my weight loss.

I'm sure that I am a carb addict also. I was having alot of stomach problems a few months ago and carbs really soothed my tummy.
Just this week I have started to really limit the amount of carbs I am eating. I have bumped up the protein and so far so good. Thanks for your reply..

I noticed your ticker is about your pregnancy, congratulations. How is that working with your pouch? Good luck with the baby.

Thanks!
So far so good. It's pretty early though and the morning sickness has just barely begun. (or should I say evening sickness)

Hello!
I am ag preop OBC patient.  I have been appoved for surgery about 2 years but unable to make the copay ($4000).  This summer I am going to finally be able to take the plunge!  I am nervous and excited at the same time.  I have many co-workers who have already had their surgeries (I work at St John Medical Center in Longview, WA which is a sister facility to Sacred Heart) and they are all doing well.
I don't have any advice for you but congrats on your accomplishments so far!
