price switch?
Really bummed right now. Drove down to Coos Bay today for my pre-op visit and all went well. Paid my money for the education class and visit with Dr Tersigni (who I thought was quite nice) and afterward double-checked with their bookkeper person re the price on the pricesheet they gave me for surgery as it was $1000 more than I was quoted (bc of my BMI I already have an overnight hospital stay which of course costs more anyway for obvious reasons). This is a huuuge deal bc my wonderful dad is paying for my surgery (from his retirement no less) and I HAD to have the exact final figure for his retirement fund to release said money and wire to me from back home (Australia).
Even on the paperwork the price I was quoted is highlighted (the person highlighted the wrong thing We were told today).
I am very upset; it's not a matter of being able to simply get more money - not that simple. So it looks like after everything I am probably not going to be able to do the surgery. :o(
Has anyone else had this same experience with bay bariatrics changing the quoted price after you pay the deposit and class fee or am - just unlucky?
So depressed over this. :o(
Edited to add: they reduced it to $500 which is more doable at least so it is now full speed ahead. ;o)
I understand where you're coming from. I paid for my surgery out of pocket and at the start of the new year, they had raised the price. I figured I needed the surgery and I put the difference on credit cards. I don't know what other options you have but that was something I thought I'd let you know about. Don't let the money issue keep you from getting the surgery that you want and need. There are even loans you can take out for health related services.
