I did it! I had my gastric bypass as Kaiser Sunnyside on Monday afternoon. I came home yesterday and I'm feeling okay. The pain is not bad and I'm able to walk around. Getting the nutritional drinks in is hard because I don't feel hungry. I have a timer set for 15 minutes to remind myself to sip. So far, it is working. I'm so happy the surgery is over and now I can focus on my recovery. The staff as Kaiser is AWESOME! If I had to do it all over again, I wouldn't hesitate.

Who was your surgeon over at Kaiser?  I had David Moiel.  He is awesome.  I had surgery on August 22,2006.  I have to agree with you everyone involved in the bariatric program at Kaiser is the best.  I am down 300 lbs since my surgery.

Just make sure you get your water and protien in.

Good luck, Happy holidays

My surgeon is Dr. Luddeman. I hear Dr. Moiel is excellent as well.

I'm having a tough time getting all of the liquid nutrition drinks in but sticking to my 1oz every 15 min. with fluids in between. I know it's important and my family cheers me on.

Congrats on your weight loss success!

Happy Holidays!

It sounds as though you are doing very well.  It is really hard to get all that nurtrition in, especially at first.  Do the best you can and eventually you'll be able to get most of it in,  Congratulations on having a successul procedure!

Thank you! I am feeling well and things are going much better than I anticipated. I feel blessed to have had an easy recovery thus far. Hopefully, it will continue.
