Ideas Needed

Shortly after I set my gastric bypass surgery date I had a family friend/benefactor offer to finance half of the cost of surgery since my insurance would not cover the procedure. I was able to obtain other loans for the other half of the cost of the surgery. My friend graciously allowed me to repay them AFTER the other loan(s) were paid off and with no interest. The anniversary of the surgery date is coming up and I am planning on making the final loan payment to my friend around the same time.

This person really cares about me and my health and what they did was out of the ordinary for the kind of friend they are to me. So I am wanting to do something extraordinary for them and your ideas would be very much appreciated. My question is this... I would like to do something really nice for my friend as a way of acknowledging their kind generosity towards me and I would like some suggestions or ideas from anyone reading this.

Thanks!

Hmm, maybe a card that has a before/after pic of you? and "Thanks for making this possible" or "Thank you for a second chance at life" ?  And maybe a gift certificate to a spa?   If you two are close friends, maybe you can go to the spa together?

I dont know, how do you possibly thank someone for something as extraordinary as what they did?  Words probably don't even come close, and I can't think of anything that can be bought that can be compared to this person's BELIEF in you, confidence in you, support like that is definitely rare... Thats why  I was thinking of some kind of personalized card or framed scrapbook-like pics?

Thank you so much for taking the time to respond to my request.  I sent this out to friends and family in an email so I am getting lots of responses and ideas to think about.  It's hard to figure out a way to express the depth of my appreciation to this person so all ideas will be carefully considered.  Thank you again!
