Finally !!!!!!
I posted this on the lapband boards, but I just had to share with my fellow Oregonians too!
I rarely post anymore, but follow the boards almost daily I just don't have the great skill at expressing my thoughts thru the written word. But, I am so happy, I just had to share with you all.
I began my weight loss journey in June 2007, like most of you, by attending my first WLS seminar. At that time, I made the decision to begin losing weight. I had my band surgery almost a year ago, in December 2007. Since I have started my WL journey, I have lost 90.5 pounds and because of that, I am thrilled.
This has not always been an easy journey, but I held steady and kept of the battle of the scales. I have been pretty much stuck within the same 5 pounds for the longest. I would gain a couple, lose a couple, and that continued for nearly 4 months. I was pretty discouraged, and had resigned to the fact that weighing 200 pounds was doable, considering where I started. But, I got on the scale yesterday morning, and I had finally broke the 200 plain and reached onederland. I thought it was a mistake, that my scales were broken....so I jumped on the scales again last night....and no, they weren't broken...same reading. I was thrilled....................almost like I was doing the happy dance. I am sure you all can relate to that. And then this morning, I weighed 198.5...........another huge victory.
Let me say, I never thought I would see the day when I would weigh the same as when I was in college, nearly 30 years ago. What a huge triumph.
I am amazed at how I fantastic feel. I love the extra energy that I have. I love taking pride in my appearance. I love the boost in my self esteem and self confidence. This has truy been the journey orf a lifetime. It is incredible.
So, all I can say, is all of you that are struggling, stay true to your band and you will be greatly rewarded.
And I do believe, the best is yet to come.
Thanks so much for all the support I have garnered and gleamed from these boards

Yeah Brandon! I'm so excited for you. I've been the same weight for 11 months now. I'm hoping after back surgery and once I can get moving again that the scales will move. It has been pretty depressing to weigh the same thing day after day after day, so I can really relate. Congratulations!!

Thanks gals! I'm hopeful. I do get depressed about it at times, but I'm hoping once I'm back to moving around, things will improve. ALSO, I have a presentation for our local meeting that may help to give folks a boost. We just had a great Round Table meeting for the Support Group Leaders and I think the info is so right on.
Well, off to clean the house so I'm not stumbling all over this junk post surgery!

I hear you bran. I started out at 526 lbs on February 23, 2005, that is when I went to my PCP and approached her about the gastric by pass. I was so deathly afraid to step on the scales and so embarrassed also. She put me on xenical, and I lost approx 150 lbs on that before surgery on August 22, 2006. Today, I weigh 226, feel marvelous. I'm not looking to get to a size 6 or 8, I am looking at just getting to a size healthy. I too pretty much have plataued. I will lose a lb, or gain 2 lbs back and lose it within a couple of 3 days or so.
I feel a whole lot better than I did back then, I have 2 1/2 yr old twins to chase, ( that is part of how I get my cardio).

WOW!! What an incredible journey you must have had Peggy...............I agree, I will NEVER be a 6 or an 8, but a 12.....I think that is entirely possible. I have a goal of 175.................which I think is entirely realistic and doable. Good luck with your continued success! We both have come a long way.........
